Who We Are

Welcome to Moda AI (the "App"). Moda AI is a fashion-focused AI stylist and style recommendation app. By using our services, you trust us with your data, and we're committed to handling it responsibly.

Information We Collect

• Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication details via Supabase.
• Style Profile & Quiz Responses: We collect style preferences, closet items, quiz answers, and other inputs you provide for personalized recommendations.
• Chat History: We store your conversations with our AI stylist to improve your experience and provide better recommendations.
• Device Information (Optional): We may collect anonymized device data for debugging and app improvement.

Gmail Integration (Optional)

If you choose to connect your Gmail account, we will:

• Access Receipt Emails: We access your Gmail to search for and read receipt emails from retailers (e.g., Amazon, Nike, Zara) to automatically import your clothing purchases into your closet.
• Data Processing: We extract purchase information (item names, prices, dates, product images) from receipt emails. We use minimal preprocessing to extract only the receipt section, then send cleaned receipt text to OpenAI for parsing and categorization.
• What We Access: We only access emails matching receipt/order confirmation patterns. We do not read your other emails or store full email content.
• Third-Party Processing: Receipt data is processed by OpenAI to identify and categorize clothing items. Only cleaned receipt text (not full emails) is sent to OpenAI.
• Storage: We store OAuth tokens securely to maintain your Gmail connection. You can disconnect at any time in Settings, which will revoke access and delete stored tokens.
• Automatic Sync: After connecting, we automatically search for and import receipts from the last 30 days. This happens in the background without requiring your action.

You can disconnect Gmail access at any time in the app Settings. Disconnecting will stop automatic receipt imports and remove stored authentication tokens.

How We Use Your Data

• To personalize your style recommendations
• To improve the AI experience
• To troubleshoot bugs or issues
• To analyze usage trends in aggregate

AI and Data Usage

We use third-party AI providers (like OpenAI) to process your chat inputs. Your data may be sent to these services as part of generating responses.

Future AI Model Training

In the future, we may train our own AI models using anonymized and aggregated user data. If this happens, we will update this policy and provide an opt-out option for affected users.

Your Rights

If you are in the EU, California, or other regions with data protection laws, you may have the right to:

• Access your data
• Request deletion
• Request correction
• Opt out of certain types of processing

Data Retention

We retain user data as long as needed to provide the service or comply with legal obligations. You may request account deletion at any time.

Third-Party Services

We use Supabase for backend storage and authentication. We also use OpenAI or similar services for AI-generated responses. If you connect Gmail, we use Google's Gmail API to access receipt emails. Please review their privacy policies for details on how they handle data.

Children's Privacy

Moda is not intended for users under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has used the app, we will take steps to delete their data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our app evolves. Continued use after updates means you accept the new terms.
